There are lots of activities and pastimes that hold to be popular in Brazil with both the tourists and the citizens. There are hundreds of beaches scattered along the 7,400 meters of coastline making Brazil a perfect place for a tropical getaway. Many people spend much of their freetime laying on the white sandy beaches, sailing on the ocean waters, or riding the surf.

Brazil is home to the Amazon River, tropical rainforests, beautiful valleys and mountains, waterfalls and other intriguing ecosystems. The land is truely a site to see. Many popular activites that give you the chance to experience these aspects of Brazil are: hiking, cruising, mountaineering, photography, deep sea fishing and more.

Soccer, or futebol as they call it, is the most popular sport in Brazil. It is the only five-time world soccer champion, and the largest exporter of soccer players to the most important soccer teams in all continents. Brazil is also very well-known for their volleyball team, who has taken home many metals in the Olympics. Not only do they play soccer and volleyball they also play various nature and adventure- integrated sports like rappel, canoeing, and free flying.

One sport that is purely Brazilian is the capoeira. It is a combination of martial arts and dancing and is very popular with all ages. It comes form a fighting style that originated in Angola. Even though it might not sound like it, capoeira is known as a highly athletic sport. Two contestants move in a series of swift moves doing cartwheels and handstands on the floor.
